How does the referral commission work?
A partner earns a commission for introducing MediaHype to a potential client, if that introduction leads to work under agreed terms. This is not a payment for the contact itself: before the intro, both sides define what qualifies as an accepted referral and what collaboration gives the right to compensation.
The commission amount is not published as a single rate. It is agreed for each specific partnership, considering the expected scope and format of work. Before the introduction, it is useful to confirm in writing:
- who exactly is making the referral and how the intro date is recorded;
- which services or agreements are included in the commission calculation;
- what is considered a result that triggers the commission;
- how and when the payment is made.
This way, both the partner and MediaHype understand the same accounting rules in advance. If you already have a relationship with the team, mention this before sharing the contact: it helps determine if the introduction qualifies under partner terms. The general interaction process with the agency is described in the how we work section.
How are referrals tracked and payments processed?
The referral must be recorded before MediaHype begins discussing the project with team members. Send the name of the project, a convenient way to connect, and a brief context: what the team does and what kind of help they may need. Do not share confidential materials without the owner's permission.
After receiving the intro, we confirm that the contact is accepted for review and separately agree on the financial terms. These should include the commission calculation base, the process for confirming the accrual, the currency, the payment method, and the deadline. If the deal or its scope changes, it is best to clarify the terms before calculating the compensation, not after.
Payment is made according to the agreed process after verification of the event specified in the partnership terms. Do not assume that a commission is earned from every referral or automatically from each subsequent order: this must be directly defined in advance. Questions about paying for MediaHype services are addressed on the payment methods page; the specific partner payout terms are confirmed separately.
Who is a good fit for the MediaHype partnership?
The program is suitable for those who regularly interact with Web3 teams and can make relevant introductions to the agency. This may include independent consultants, studios, launch specialists, content creators, or members of professional communities. The size of your audience matters less than the relevance of the referral and the project's consent to the introduction.
To make the intro useful, find out if the team is open to external support before sharing the contact. Add a brief description of the task: for example, the project needs help with go-to-market planning, working with creators, or community development. Do not promise specific results or terms on behalf of MediaHype that the agency has not confirmed.
Partners who provide services under their own brand can discuss a separate engagement format: details are available on the white label for agencies page. If you are unsure whether a particular project is suitable, describe the situation without unnecessary personal data and contact the team first.
What should be agreed before referring a project?
Before the intro, it is necessary to agree on the attribution rules, commission, and payment, and to confirm that the client is ready for the introduction. The mere act of sharing a contact does not create any obligation for the client toward MediaHype and does not guarantee a contract: the project decides whether to collaborate, and the agency confirms the appropriate scope of work after discussing the task.
Terms may not apply to a contact with whom MediaHype is already negotiating, or to a project introduced by another partner. To avoid misunderstandings, document the team name, date and method of the intro, the agreed scope of services, and how the commission is determined. Do not share information that the project considers confidential without its consent.
Commission and compensation are not promised until the specific terms are confirmed in writing; timelines and accruals depend on the chosen process and the fulfillment of agreed conditions. This is especially important if multiple referrers are involved in the deal or if multiple services are being discussed. General contractual provisions can be found in the terms of service, while partner payout details should be confirmed directly with MediaHype.
Frequently asked questions
How much commission will I get for a referral?
There is no single public percentage: the commission and calculation base are agreed for each specific partnership. Before sharing the contact, clarify which services are considered, what counts as a confirmed referral, and what event triggers the right to payment.
When is the partner commission paid?
The timeline is set in the terms agreed before the intro. The terms also specify the event that triggers the commission, how the amount is confirmed, and the payment process. If you have already shared a contact, ask the team to first confirm in writing the terms that apply to it.
What do I need to prepare to refer a project?
Just the project name, a brief description of its task, and the permitted way to reach the responsible person. Confirm that the team agrees to the introduction. Only share confidential documents and personal data with the project's permission.
Do I earn commission on every intro I send?
No automatic payment for just the contact. Before the introduction, MediaHype must confirm the referral and agree on which collaboration is considered, how the compensation is calculated, and when it is paid. The project's decision to work with the agency cannot be promised by the partner.
